Jean G. Barber, 88, beloved mom and grandma, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 21, 2006, in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Preceded in death by husband Fred E., she is survived by children Scott, Peter and Margaret (David) Strock; grandchildren Tracy (Todd) Sampson, Andrew (Shannon) Barber, Gregory, Rebecca and Brian Strock; five great-grandchildren and brother, William L. (Marion) Gardner of Prescott.

Born and raised in the Chicago area, Jean and Fred moved to Prescott in 1978 for their retirement years, first in Antelope Hills and then in Samaritan Village. They were members of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and were avid hikers with the Prescott Outings Club. Jean was also a volunteer at Yavapai Regional Medical Center for over 20 years. 

Jean moved to Minnesota in 2002 to be closer to her family.

Services were held in Minnesota and at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in  Elmhurst, Illinois. Memorials preferred to donor's choice.
