The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ March 6, 1969 HERBERT RIGGS Death last week claimed another of the town’s veterans of World War I. Herbert E. Riggs, a resident here since 1947, died February 28 in Community Hospital where he had been a patient since the day previous. He had been in ill health for many months. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Monday of this week in the Wickenburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Randall of the First Baptist Church officiating. The American Legion conducted a brief ceremony at the Funeral Home. Burial was in the Wickenburg Cemetery. Mr. Riggs, a native of West Virginia, was born June 24, 1895. Before retiring in 1946 he spent 29 years as a machine designer for the Goodyear Rubber Co., Akron, O. He was a member of the American Legion and the World War I Veterans here. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge, 52 years. He and Mrs Riggs would have observed their 50th wedding anniversary March 15. In addition of his wife Grace, he is survived by a bother Harry Riggs of Jackson, Mich., and three sisters, Mrs Rose Bridges, Youngtown, Ariz.; Mrs Zilla Simonton, Akron, O., and Mrs Rena Davidson, Coral Cables, Fla.
