OBITUARY: Jacob Minsch (1876-1943) JACOB MINSCH RITES PENDING Funeral services are pending for Jacob Minsch, 66-year-old valley farmer, who died Saturday night, September 18, 1943, after he was stricken with a heart attack in his home on Four Mile Road near Jackson Street. Funeral arrangements are awaiting the arrival here of a son, Orville E. Minsch, now in Army service in Washington, and a brother, Andy Minsch, of Onaga, Kansas. Mr. Minsch first came to the Salt River Valley in 1908 from Onaga, Kansas. His first wife, Mary, was the victim of an automobile accident in 1922. His marriage to Ethel Queen of Sylva, North Carolina, took place several years later. He was born in Kansas. Besides his wife, Ethel, his son, Orville, and his brother, Andy, he is survived by two other sons, Jay C. Minsch of Phoenix, and Wilbur J. Minsch of Anderson, Indiana; a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn McGinn of Phoenix; and four grandchildren. (Phoenix Gazette, Phoenix, Arizona, Monday, 20 September 1943)
