The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 29, 1969, p. 11 VIRGINIA HOLMBERG Her fifth grade pupils and the many friends she had made here while teaching at the Wickenburg Elementary School this year were shocked and saddened by the death of Mrs Virginia Elizabeth Holmberg which occurred of a heart attack this morning of May 21 at her home in Yarnell. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Yarnell Community Church and burial was in the Genung Cemetery in Peeples Valley. Mrs Holmberg, who was 66 years of age, had taught for 10 years in the Glendale, Ariz., elementary school system before joining the faculty of the local elementary school last fall. She was a native of Durango, Colo., and was graduated from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kans. She did post graduate study at the University of Kansas, Creighton University in Omaha, Arizona State University and the University of Southern California. She taught 14 years in Omaha and 14 years in Aztec, N.M., before coming to Arizona. During World War II Mrs Holmberg was a production engineer on the staff of the president of Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, Calif. She is survived by her husband Carrol; a son, William of La Quinta, Calif., a sister out of state and two grandchildren
