The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ July 10, 1969 GAYLE LAYTON IS KILLED ON MOUNTAIN ROAD Friends here were saddened by the tragic death of Gayle Layton, 20-year old daughter of Mr & Mrs Delbert C. Layton which occurred July 2 when her 4-wheel vehicle went out of control and plunged into a canyon near the Eleven L Ranch of her parents on the castle Hot Springs Road north of Morristown. Susan Johnson, 15-year old daughter of Mr & Mrs Brad Johnson, jumped from the vehicle and escaped injury. Funeral services were held July 5 in the 26th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Phoenix and burial was in the Eleven L. Cemetery. The accident happened in Yavapai County and so only fragmentary details were available.
