David Obermeyer, 84, passed away June 25, 2011, in Lake Havasu City. He was born Oct. 3, 1926, in Los Angeles, Calif., to David and Helen Obermeyer.
David was raised and lived most of his life in Southern California. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1945 to 1947. He married the woman that put a twinkle in his eyes, Geneva, April 5, 1948, and together they enjoyed 63 years of marriage, three sons, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. David and Geneva moved to Lake Havasu City 16 years ago, coming from Monrovia, Calif., where they resided for more than 47 years. David enjoyed playing golf, traveling, watching old movies, playing cards, old classic cars and trains, his wine times each day and relaxing on the water. Most of all, he loved being with his family.
David is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Geneva Obermeyer, of Lake Hasvasu City; sons, Michael (Shirley), Douglas (Debra) and Dave Obermeyer; grandchildren, Evan (Melissa) Obermeyer, Erik Obermeyer, Jessica (Ondray) Alvis, Robbie Obermeyer, Jason (Kim) Obermeyer and Ryan Obermeyer; great-grandchildren, Kiley, Noah, Kyndra and Payton Obermeyer, and Daisy and Holly Alvis; daughter-in-law, Ute Obermeyer; as well as many friends.
