The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/01/2011 Helen Morrow Holland "Helen left us to be with her parents Marvin (Red) and Zollie Morrow and her brother Robert Morrow on June 19, 2011. Helen was born Nov.28, 1936 in Lookeka, Oklahoma the family then moved to California. In 1938 they relocated to Pinetop where Marvin went to work for Southwest Forest Industries in McNary. The following year they moved to McNary where Helen attended school. Helen married Eddie Holland in 1953 and had two children, Shirley and Allen. She later went to Rose Mar College of Beauty in Globe. She came back and worked in shops in the Pinetop area for many years. She enjoyed meeting and getting to know the people she worked with and those for whom she provided beauty services. She enjoyed traveling, square dancing, tole painting, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her brother VL (Shorty) (Mary Lou) Morrow of Flagstaff; daughter Shirley (Larry) Poteet of Lakeside; and son Allen Holland of Show Low; sister-in-law Dolly (Holland) Gottschalk of Kingman; grandchildren: Mark, Kelly, Jaime, Wendy, Poteet, and Amanda; great-grandchildren: Vanessa, Tyler, Jacob, Gabriel, and Angela. She will be missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the American Association. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. July 9, at the White Mountain, Fellowship Church on Commerce Drive in Lakeside. Arrangements have been entrusted to Black's Show Low Mortuary.
