JORDAN, Francis George


The Prescott Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, June 6, 2006 Francis George Jordan, age 90, of Prescott died Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott. Francis was born Oct. 25, 1915 in Percival, Iowa to Ralph and Julie (Davison) Jordan. Francis enlisted in the Navy at the age of 18 and served in China on a gunboat on the Yangtze River. After the Navy he worked in Silverton, Colorado on the railroad. Francis moved his family to Prescott in 1952 and established his successful career in real estate. He then was elected to the position of Yavapai County Assessor. Francis retired from the Assessor's Office in 1980. Francis and his wife Margaret enjoyed many traveling adventures and spent their winters in Yuma. Francis also enjoyed fishing, and most of all his grandkids. Francis is survived by his wife Margaret; his three sons, Kurt and Susan Jordan of Virginia, Chris and Deborah Jordan of Prescott Valley and Fred and Susie Jordan of Arkansas; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two sisters. A visitation was held on Monday, June 5 at the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Raymond Roller conducted the service. Burial followed the service at the Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Information provided by survivors.
