CUNNINGHAM, James Harold (Rev.)


The Prescott Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, October 31, 2006 Reverend James Harold Cunningham, age 70, died Oct. 26, 2006, in Cottonwood. He was born on June 25, 1936, in Sweetser, Ind., the son of Dalton Harold and Rhoda Isabel (Fisher) Cunningham. Reverend Cunningham (affectionately know as Pastor C) was a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ for 30 years for the Church of the Nazarene in Wyoming, Idaho and Arizona. He spent his life doing what he loved the most; pointing people to the truth of the Holy Scriptures and salvation in Jesus Christ. Everyone who knew Pastor C will remember him for his hearty laugh, his sense of humor, his great story telling and most of all, his love and dedication to the God he served. Jim would tell you some of his most treasured times were spent creating memories in the beautiful outdoors, hunting, camping, boating and hiking with family members and friends. Grandpa will be deeply missed by his ten grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Pastor C is survived by his wife, Judith L.; daughters Cynthia Lynne Wiederholt and Deborah Dianne Johnson; son, James Harold, Jr.; sisters Janice Vargas and Bonnie Wilson; brothers John Cunningham and Dennis Cunningham; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Pastor C was preceded in deathby his parents, Dalton Harold and Rhoda Isabel Cunningham. A Memorial Celebration Service in honor of Jim will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at the Verde Valley Church of the Nazarene, Hwy 260, Cottonwood. The family of Pastor C suggests memorials in his memory to be made to Samaritans Purse or Nazarene Compassionate Ministries. Arrangements entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home.
