A funeral service will be Saturday, July 9, at 10 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Winslow Stake Center, with a viewing starting at 9 a.m. Interment to follow at Desert View Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Greer's Mortuary chapel. Greer's Mortuary is handling the arrangements. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow, Winslow, Arizona Tamara (Tammy) LaDawn Rogers, 43, of Winslow, passed away suddenly July 4,2011 at her home in Winslow, AZ. Tammy was born Jan 2, 1968 in Flagstaff, AZ to Tom and Lydiann (Babe) O'Connell. She was a 1986 graduate of Winslow High School and was proud to be a bulldog and proud of Winslow. She loved our little town. Most people in Winslow knew Tammy as "The Root Beer Stand Lady" as she was employed by Darrel and Sandra Hancock for over 20 years. She met and fell head over heels in love with her tall, dark and handsome cowboy Roy Rogers in 1986 and on Jan 2, 1987 she and Roy were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Together they have raised a beautiful family. She loved life "and enjoyed each day as the present. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many positions. Her latest being the Compassionate Service Coordinator. She loved to be of service. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Roy Rogers, sons Vernon L. Rogers and Justin T. Rogers. Her father Tom O'Connell, brothers Sam O'Connell, Dan Owsley, Ron Owsley, Dan O'Connell and Tom O'Connell, her father in-law Lynn Rogers. She is preceded in death by her mother Lydiann (Babe) O'Connell and her precious infant daughter, Lydianna Krisele Rogers. Also her mother in-law Donna Rogers. Winslow has once again lost a precious' gem and she will truly be missed. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 9th, 10:00 am @the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Winslow Stake Center with a viewing starting at 9:00 am. Interment to follow at Desert View Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 at Greer's Mortuary chapel.
