Lynne Merle Robbins was born on Nov. 23, 1940, to Walter Paul Wentzel and Dorothy Emma Johnson in the vibrant inner city of Chicago, Ill.
She loved city life and was working as a secretary in Chicago when she met and married James Edward Robbins there in 1962. They had two children, Brian Edward (1965) and Laura Lynn (1968), before moving to Prescott, Ariz., in 1977.
She adjusted quickly to small-town life and embraced both the people and the landscape, trading city life for hiking and enjoying nature. She found an extended family in The Heights Church shortly after coming to Prescott and remained an active member for the rest of her life in addition to her church activities, she took pride in her work as an office manager for 15 years with Juvenile Court in Yavapai County and added her coworkers to her long list of treasured friends.
She gained a beloved daughter-in-law, Nancy Beth, when she married Brian in 1990.
Lynne saw a friend in the eyes of every stranger she met and enjoyed traveling to foreign cultures and meeting people from all over the world. She loved her life and the many people she shared it with, including those who cared for her during her four-year battle with breast cancer she died of breast cancer on Nov. 13, 2007, in her home surrounded by family, as she wished it to be. Always quick to laugh at what others might fear, she embraced life until the end with humor and grace.
To honor her memory, put your faith in God and find a reason to enjoy everyone you meet. Memorial services will be noon Saturday, Nov 17, 2007, at The Heights Church, 2121 Larry Caldwell Drive, Prescott, Ariz.
