The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, November 28, 2007 Betty Jo Brashears, 81, passed away Monday, November 26, 2007 in Camp Verde, Arizona, her home for the last 25 years. Betty was proud to be a native of Arizona, born in Phoenix on May 14, 1926. Betty attended elementary schools in Phoenix, and Phoenix Union High School where she was a member of and sang in the school's Oratorio Society Chorus. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Juan Brashears; sons, Michael, Jerry, Jon, and Barry Brashears; her sister, Marilyn Burson-Summers of Payson, Ariz.; her brother, Gary C. Burson of Tempe, Ariz.; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2006 at Garcia Cemetery in Wickenburg, Arizona. Bueler Camp Verde Funeral Home assisted the family.
