The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/08/2011 Karen E. Pomeroy, 67, of Show Low died July 5, 2011. She was born Aug. 8, 1943. She grew up and attended school in Salt Lake City, Utah. Following school she married Mick Pomeroy. They made their home in Salt Lake City before moving to Mesa in 1965. They moved to Show Low in 1978. Karen was a homemaker. She loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and gardening. She also loved animals. She is survived by her husband, Mick Pomeroy of Show Low; daughter Laurie A. Waite of Mesa; son Michael L. Pomeroy of Show Low; sisters Judy Jensen and Ingrid Hudson of West Valley, Utah; brothers Douglas Arnesen and Alan Arnesen of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shelley Pomeroy, parents Axel and Ruby Arnesen, and sister Eileen Deegan. Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at the downtown chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 300 N. 19th St. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Show Low Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Humane Society of the White Mountains, 3212 N. Porter Mountain Rd. Lakeside, AZ 85929. Black's Show Low Mortuary is entrusted with arrangements.
