The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, AZ April 1968 Sophie Kano [09/10/1889 ~ 03/30/1968] Services for Mrs. Sophie Kano, 78, 0f 2528 N. 40th Drive who died in a nursing home here Saturday, will be at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow in A. L. Moore and Sons Mortuary, 333 W. Adams. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park. Born in Greenvine, Tex., she came to here in 1926 from Crosbyton, Tex. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Grace Clark, Mrs. Flora Machmer, and Mrs. June Cooper of Phoenix, Mrs. Florence Cornwell of Sunland, Calif., and Mrs. Esther Curtis of South Laguna, Calif.; five sons, Herbert of Olivehurst, Calif., Ed, Paul and Dick, all of Avondale, and S.A. of Phoenix; three sisters in Texas; 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the mortuary from 3 to 9 p.m. today.
