RIDGLEY, Gerald Franklin


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Wednesday, July 6, 2011 - Gerald Franklin Ridgley, 95, passed peacefully in Kingman Sunday, July 3, 2011. Gerald was born Aug. 1, 1915, in Denver to Paul and Cara (Shaw) Ridgley. Gerald was a self-employed owner of a floor-covering store, and a proud veteran of World War II in the U.S. Army. He moved to Meadview from Pomona, Calif., 60 years ago. He is a lifetime member of the B.P.O.E. (74 years), and did water skiing until he was 90 years old. Gerald loved traveling in his motor home and driving a dune buggy. He also loved the heat — the hotter the better. Gerald is survived by his loving family, daughters Vicki Ridgley-Chapel of Meadview, Cara Ridgley Guarino of Lake Havasu City and Vivian Myers of Lake Havasu City; seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, 3-5 p.m. Friday. Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Saturday at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens with the B.P.O.E. chaplain officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held at 3205 N. Kiowa Blvd. Contributions can be made in Gerald’s name to the B.P.O.E. children charities.
