Weldon Hopman, 79, of Prescott, Ariz., born Aug. 31, 1931, in Ash Grove, Ill., passed away July 10, 2011.
Services will be 11 a.m. July 16, 2011, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 231 W. Smoke Tree Lane, Prescott. Interment will be at the Arizona Pioneer Home Cemetery.

Weldon Hopman, 79, died on July 10, 2011. He was born on Aug. 31, 1931, in Ash Grove, Ill., to Herman and Pearlene Hopman. He was a resident of Prescott, Ariz., since 1962.
Weldon lived life to the fullest. He first worked as a farmer in Illinois, then as a general contractor and developer in Arizona.
All of his life he loved shooting and competing in trap shoots. Among his many winnings, at the age of 23, he won the Grand American Trap Shoot, the largest world match. He was an avid hunter and professional mountain lion guide.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; daughters Becky (Matt Bates, daughters Bailey and Sierra), Susie (Brad Mork, daughter Ella), Renee (Jeff Hancharick, son Reese and daughter Ava), and Joanie (Tanner Pritchard, daughter Dominique and son Trevor); and sister Melva Langdell.
Weldon was an active member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, where a Celebration of Life ceremony will be on Saturday, July 16, 2011. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m.
