Robert L. Carver, of Lake Mary, Fla., passed away peacefully in his home on July 3, 2011.
Robert was born Jan. 25, 1930, in Denver, Colo. to Lloyd Carver and Clara Norma Mauney Carver.
Bob and his bride Donna Leith Morrow Carver moved to Florida from Lake Havasu City to be close to their daughter, Cathy. Bob and Donna had retired in Arizona from the Burlington Northern Railroad where Bob worked for 40 years as a conductor serving the northwestern part of the United States.
Bob loved his work on the railroad, giving him the opportunity to see the country and live in Montana, including Billings, Kalispell, White Fish, Livingston, and Havre. During early retirement, Bob was the Lake Havasu City SDA church treasurer.
Bob had a very soft spot in his heart for his dogs but when he moved to Florida he fell in love with a cat named Albert. Albert ran his life and sat with Bob to the end.
Bob graduated from Mount Ellis Academy High School and that is where he met his bride. He also attended Idaho State for a few years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Donna. Surviving is his son Stan (Patricia) of Sunland, Calif.; his daughter, Cathy Slovarp (Richard) of Longwood, Fla.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A family memorial service is Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Markham Woods SDA Church.
