VAN DYCK, Rosemary

(Maiden Name: Dunkel)

The Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on July 15, 2011 - A vivacious, free-spirited beautiful woman and lady, Rosemary "Rosie" Dunkel Van Dyck left us to the moon, the stars, and the sky and to her God on May 21, 2011, at the age of 66. She was born Aug. 8, 1944, in Los Angeles. She was preceded in death by her father, Casper Michael Dunkel (1969), and her mother, Virginia Claire Harper Dunkel (1998), and by a younger sister, Josephine "Joy" Michelle (1971). She is survived by her five children, Shara Lynn (Doug) French, Walter "Van" John Van Dyck III, Ernest Michael, Letitia Michelle (Brian) Ohlemacher and Damien Kirk; a sister, LaVerne King; a brother, Casper Michael Dunkel III, both of Utah; three grandsons, Walter J. Van Dyck IV, Anakin Xavier and Aiden Michael; seven granddaughters, Heather Christine, Nicole Joy, Destiny Ann, Corie Marie, Carlie Michelle, Aurora Hope and Emilee Jane; six great-grandsons, Daniel Christopher, Jacob Anthony, Caleb Johnathan, Matthew Nathaniel, Jayden John and Nathan Douglas; and one great-granddaughter, Atalynn Rose; in addition to numerous cousins and Dunkel family members who live in California. Rosemary's favorite pastimes were the Dunkel family reunions, held on the Colorado River, always talking with so much respect about her beloved father, Casper, who served as a Paratrooper in the 81st Airborne, United States Army during World War II. Rosemary embraced life and loved working at Cracker Barrel with her Cracker Barrel family for the past 10 years. But above all, Rosemary loved and lived for her family, and they were her greatest joy. Her memory leaves indelible images and feelings in our hearts and minds forever. Rosemary strived to make all her kids happy, in which she did every day. Her legacy is the pure innocent and caring nature of her soul demonstrated daily to all those around her. Her words and many acts of kindness, in addition to her gifts of fairy dust and sage advice, proved the wisdom and special spirit she carried with her in every life encounter. A celebration of life with family and friends was held at the VFW Post in Kingman on Friday, May 27, 2011. In addition, her Cracker Barrel family held a special memorial, releasing balloons in her honor at Locomotive Park, in Kingman on June 12, 2011. In deep reverence, a dear and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and best friend will be honored and cherished forever. Oceans of crashing waves continue to be thrust upon our hearts in your sudden departure from this life. Until we meet again, precious Mother and best friend, the angel-fairy wings of your pure soul will flutter in our hearts, our mind and soul, for eternity.
