SHELTON, Carl James


The Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on July 15, 2011 - Carl James Shelton, 80, of Kingman passed away Monday, July 11, 2011, in Kingman. He was born March 18, 1931, in Plainview, Ark., to Carl and Norma Shelton and came to this area 30 years ago. Carl earned his B.A. at Northwestern University, Alva, Okla., and his M.A. at Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Carl is survived by his sister, Norma Murdock of Oklahoma; three sisters-in-law, Irene Shelton and Millie Shelton, both of California, and Darline Shelton of Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial will be held in Laughlin, Nev., in March 2012 at the family reunion. The family would like to thank the Gardens Care Center for their love and care, and a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kenneth Jackson and Leah Goldie for their special love and tender care.
