The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, July 16, 2011 Ruth W. Breyer, 87, of Prescott, Ariz., born in London, England, to Alice and Henry Muir, passed away July 8, 2011, at home from natural causes. Ruth came to America in 1948 as a World War II bride to marry the love of her life, Shepard Benson. They shared 14 wonderful years together in Chicago where they raised their three children before his passing away in 1962. In 1991, upon retirement, Ruth and her husband Laurie Breyer moved to Prescott, Ariz. He preceded her in death in 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters Joan and Clara and her dear brother Stanley. Ruth worked in office settings during her working years and even into her retirement when she volunteered and worked in the administration office at YRMC. She also volunteered with Prescott People Who Care. She is survived by her children Lisa (Ben) Stoken of Prescott, Mimi Benson of Prescott, and Lee Benson of Granada Hills, Calif.; her sister Shirley and brother Dennis in England; her granddaughter Heather Stoken (Guy Paden) of Portland, Ore.; grandsons Stephen and David Benson of California; many beloved nieces and nephews; and her dearest friend Roz Blinski of Chicago. Ruth was a kind, loving, gentle, peaceful person who always had a smile on her face and made friends wherever she went. She loved to read and enjoyed being with people. A celebration of Ruth's life will be 11 a.m. Friday July 22, 2011, at Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez St., Prescott, Ariz.
