POWERS, Leonard

Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg Arizona January 26, 1967, page 16 L. Powers Rites Here Wednesday Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wickenburg Cemetery for Leonard Powers of Glendale, Ariz., former well known resident of Wickenburg who died of a heart attack while playing golf Sunday morning on the Maryvale Golf Course in Phoenix. He was 58 years of age. The rites here followed funeral services at the Glendale Green Acres Mortuary in Glendale. Mr. Powers was affiliated with the American Linen Supply Co. of Phoenix for many years and converted that company’s routes throughout this section of Arizona where he acquired a wide acquaintance. When he suffered a heart attack a number of years ago and was forced to give up active work for a time, he directed the Wickenburg Park board’s recreation program during his convalescence. After moving to Glendale two and one-half years ago he continued to service American Linen customers in this area. He also supervised other routes for the company. He is survived by his wife Lorraine, a son Delbert of Santa Ana, Calif., and a daughter Mrs. Karen Strephans of Phoenix and three grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Thurman Powers of Camp Verde, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Harry Bowles of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and two brothers and two sisters living out of state.
