Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg Arizona February 12, 1967 Fiery Crash Kills woman The first highway fatality of the year occurred Friday night, Jan 5, four miles southeast of Wittmann on U.S. 60-70 in a fiery one-car crash. The crash took the life of Betty Johnson, 43, recently of Phoenix. In Maricopa County Hospital in critical condition is the driver, James Blaine Johnston, 38, 3428 N 12th St. Phoenix. The accident occurred when the Johnston vehicle left the road striking a culvert abutment and rolling into a ravine where it burst into flames. The remains of the car was brought to Figgins Chevrolet.
