The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday, July 15, 2003 Doris O. Courter, 80, of Phoenix, died July 12, 2003. She was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. Doris is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Robert F. Courter, and also her son Larry. After a successful first career as loving wife and mother raising four children, Doris and her husband Bob retired to Phoenix, AZ in 1980. There she became an active member in The Catholic Daughters of America, The Women of the Moose, and St. Theresa Parish. Doris is survived by her two sons: Bob and wife Carol of Phoenix, Craig and his wife Debbie of Baltimore, and a daughter Trish of Los Angeles. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Kyle, Mike and Elizabeth of Phoenix, Ashlee and Amanda of Baltimore and Christina of Peoria. Doris was predeceased by a sister, Agnes Driscoll of Jensen Beach, FL. She is survived by brother Kevin Oates and his wife Audrey of Hilton Head, SC, and by a sister, Joan McNamara and her husband Jack of Culver's Lake, NJ. A service will be held at Whitney & Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home Chapel, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ. on Wednesday, July 16th at 2:00 P.M.
