BARTELSON - HANSEN, Martena (Tena)

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday, July 15, 2003 Martena "Tena" Bartelson Hansen, 97 of Phoenix, Arizona passed away July 14, 2003. Born September 8, 1905 in Harlan, Iowa. She married John Bartelson December 18, 1923. The family moved to Arizona in January of 1940 due to John's poor health. He died August 17, 1945. She retired from the Roosevelt School District as cafeteria manager in June, 1967 after 25 years of service. She married John Hansen June 10, 1968. He passed away July 20, 1978. She is preceded in death by son, Leland Bartelson. Survived by son, Kenneth (Bobbie) Bartelson, Daughters, Louise Robinson and Verlee (Albert) Edens, 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchil-dren. She is also survived by Mr. Hansen's loving children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who also considered her their "Grandma". She was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Congregational Church. Services will be held on Wed., July 16th at 10 AM at Greenwood Memory Lawn Serenity Chapel, 2300 W. Van Buren. Visitation 1 hour prior to services at the chapel.
