D'APUZZO, George

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, July 16, 2003 George D'Apuzzo passed away on July 13, 2003. The world lost a loving husband and father. George was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 24, 1914. He served in the National Guard in New York and was employed in the Display Dept. at Abraham & Straus. George and his family moved to Phoenix in 1956, where they became active parishioners of St. Theresa Church. George was an active member of the Holy Name Society and the Ushers' Group. George was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Prescott, AZ where he spent a number of happy years. He is survived by his wife Marion; brother Vince D'Apuzzo, sister Ann D'Apuzzo and his beloved 9 children; Barbara Dempsey, George D'Apuzzo (Judy), Judy D'Apuzzo, Bill D'Apuzzo, Jane O'Clair (Ed), Joan Thomas (Bob), Marion Rommel (Steve), Steve D'Apuzzo (Star), Chris D'Apuzzo (Elise), 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He retired from United Liquor Assoc. in 1981. He loved his family & church. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 16, 2003, 7:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. with Scripture Service at 8:00 P.M. at Whitney & Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, July 17, 2003 at 9:00 A.M. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Rd., Phoenix, AZ. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in honor of George to your favorite charity.
