Alejandro "Alex" R. Pina entered this world on August 10, 1956 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Was forced out by malice intent, entering into eternal life and peace on September 22, 2002 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Katie Barriga, Raymond Diaz, Sr., Albert, Sr., and Rita, brother, Kenny, uncles, Ernest Pina, John and Mary Martinez, Mary Gold, great grandma, stepfather, Mario Orozco, cousins, Mary Diaz and Virgina Jaminez, aunts, Irene Monteial, Rose Serrano and Pat Barriga.
Survivors, his parents, Inez Diaz and Albert, Jr., brother, Ronnie, Mike, Albert, III, Michael, Arturo, sisters, Linda, Norma, Raquel Richter, Alice Espindola, Angie Hardesty, grandma Rosalie Luna, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends from near and far will always remember his smile and kindness. He was never too broke or busy in showing his love for his family through a small gift, a phone call, postcard, short visits or to offer small tasks. He was a devoted son who even as a youngster placed mom's needs before his always assuring proper heating and cooling. "Tio Alex can fix anything for us" the kids would say with trust. Seeing them smile as he played, read or did tricks they loved was his joy. He always encouraged them respect, good sportsmanship, kindness, and love. They still lay out gum, stuffed animals, make pictures, and write poems for him. There is nothing Kyle does not share with him, tho at times there is out burst needs for his Tio's presence instead of the picture. Alex was so grateful for his good health, strong body strength, and was proud to be an American. He had love for knowledge through reading books and other materials especially the Bible, saw Gods love and creations a gift not only to be cherished but shared this I believe is what allowed him the ability to touch the hearts of so many who crossed his path. He was a none violent man but was not afraid or ashamed to make a stand for what was right. Respected and cared deeply for others.
Three months prior to departure Alex had received a certificate and a CDL for professional long haul interstate driving and was enrolled at Phoenix College for computer skills. His work history was a licensed nursing assistant enjoying senior care best and was very proud of his excellent and precise talent in floor carpet installing and repair. Graduated from Edison School and attended Phoenix Union and ASU and received his GED from Phoenix Tech.
The love and memories within our hearts will keep his spirit alive and near so if we listen we can hear that love still around us soft and clear. Then when we come his way alone he will be there to greet us in with that smile and say "Welcome Home." I know that as the Angels and Saints of Glory drew near my son entered that beautiful city and is now dressed in white robes. Rev. 6:9,10, 11.
