Getha Michael, 85, of Cottonwood, Arizona died on Monday, July 22, 2002. A life long resident of Arizona she was born in Flagstaff on July 4, 1917. She was the daughter of Thomas & Helena (Schuerman) Owenby. Her parents were some of the original settlers of the Oak Creek area in the 1800's.
Getha was a graduate of the Clemenceau Grade School & of Clarkdale High School. She was married to Chester Michael who preceded her in death in May of 2001.
Her parents, a daughter, Barbara Black & a sister: Dorothy Edwards also preceded her in death. Mrs. Michael is survived by her two sons & their wives: Thomas E. & Linda K. Michael of Cornville, Ariz., Robert O. & Linda S. Michael of Cottonwood, Ariz., son-in-law: George Black of Mesa, Ariz., nine grandchildren & 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 26th at the Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Avenue, Cottonwood.
