MURPHY, Billy Bob

Yuma Daily Sun, Yuma, Arizona August 25, 1974 Tractor Crushes Youth Prescott - A fifteen year old youth died when the tractor he was driving overturned on a ranch 40 miles northwest of here, the second tragedy in two days for the family of two sisters, Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies said. Billy Bob Murphy was killed when the tractor he was driving rolled on him, deputies said. Murphy was a cousin to Kathleen Archer, 7, who was killed Wednesday with her father, Roy Archer, 38, in a fire in a ranch cabin northwest of Seligman. Murphy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Murphy. Mrs. Murphy and Mrs. Archer are sisters. The Archers had moved into the lonely ranch cabin only the day before the fire. Archer and his wife had fled the early morning blaze, only to discover his daughter was still inside. Deputies said Archer returned into the burning house, but the roof collapsed before he could bring her to safety. Archer had been employed earlier on the same ranch where Murphy was killed.
