Charles Waymon Brooks, 70, of Cottonwood died June 9. He was born January 13, 1934 in Chandler, Arizona.
He was a graduate of Kyrene Elementary School, Chandler High School and Mesa Community College.
He was an Army veteran and also served in the National Guard.
He retired as an electronics engineer from Rogers Corporation. He had also owned Brookshaven Repair Service in Cottonwood, he also had worked for NAPA in Cottonwood and Quintas in Camp Verde.
Mr. Brooks was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and he also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening. He enjoyed attending the 56th Field Artillery Battalion Reunion Group.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Marilyn Brooks; two sons, Tim Brooks, USAF, stationed at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota; and Andy Brooks of Chandler; a daughter, Robin Coffey of West Valley City, Utah; two sisters, Vernell Stiles of Hemet, California and Carolyn Barnes of Olympia, Washington; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 16 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1500 E. Hombre Dr., Cottonwood from 10-11 a.m.
A funeral service will held at the Church at 11 AM. A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 17 in the Valley of the Sun Memorial Park in Chandler at 11 AM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood.
