Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, July 20, 2011 Velva Dawn Ray, age 85, of Globe, Ariz. passed away on July 10, 2011 at Heritage Healthcare Center in Globe. She was born in Makato, Minn. on April 21, 1926, the daughter of Arthur C. and Hazel Berg. Velva had worked as a registered nurse for the Gila General Hospital. She enjoyed taking care of her family and being with her grandchildren. She served her country proudly in the U.S. Navy. Velva is survived by her husband, Harry H. Ray, Jr. of Globe; her daughter, Dawn Woolery (Lovell) of University Place, Wash.; her son, Harry Ray (Kathy) of Mesa, Ariz.; her sister, Phyllis Barnes of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and four grandchildren. Funeral Services were private. Assisting the family; Lamont Mortuary of Globe.
