In loving memory of Velva Davis, who went home with the Lord on Saturday, July 16, at the Whiteriver Hospital. Velva was born April 3, 1950, to Arthur and Lillian (Jala) Burnette. Velva came from a huge Alchesay Falcon Family and she loved to joke, sew and did amazing beadwork. She will be dearly missed by all.
Velva is survived by her companion, Art Kasey of Whiteriver; three daughters: Lavenia Way of Whiteriver, Lavita Tessay of Phoenix, and Lavonne Tessay of Whiteriver; son, Levitto Tessay Jr. of Whiteriver; grandchildren: Haley Renee of Tucson, Lavitto Thompson of Tucson, Majerle Lupe and Keiron, both of Whiteriver; three sisters: Caroline Alchesay of Whiteriver, Ludy Altaha of Cedar Creek, and Shirley Burnette of Canyon Day; three brothers: Adam Burnette, Sidney Burnette and Mac Burnette all of Whiteriver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lillian Burnette; two sons: Marklin Lupe and Terran Ethelbah; one granddaughter Marshaya Thompson.
Her body was brought back to her residence at 305 W. Horseshoe in Another World for a two night wake Wednesday, July 20. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, at the Canyon Day Miracle Church West Miracle Road in Whiteriver. Burial will follow at the Canyon Day Cemetery.
