WEEDA, Robert Galen


Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from July 21 to July 29, 2011 - Robert "Bob" Galen Weeda, age 76, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at 4:57 a.m., due to complications following pacemaker surgery in Saint George, Utah. Bob was born on December 11, 1934, to parents, Anthony J. and Florence Winifred Weeda. He completed 13 years of education, most of which he put to good use in construction, manufacturing of recreational vehicles, and home improvement items. During his younger wild years, his passion was racing cars. As a father, his passion became sports, focusing on coaching Little League baseball, "Pop Warner" football, and children's' athletic programs, culminating in service to his community as Orange Empire (Pop Warner) Conference Commissioner. His favorite pastimes were attending the drag races with his son, Darren, and going on vacation with wife, April. Bob was preceded in death by his grandchild, Jeremy. Bob is survived by his wife, April; three children, Keith, Robin and Darren; four step-children, Carolyn, Geoffrey, Darryl, and Adam; five siblings Carmen (Micki), Florence (Babe), Patricia (Pat), Tom and Richard; five grandchildren, Juliana, Ryan, Brendan, Aubrey, and Logan; and great-grandchild, Jonathan. A visitation and rosary are scheduled at 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the Saint George Community Church, 95 S. 800 E. St. George, Utah. Interment will be at Tonaquint Cemetery in Saint George, Utah. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the Saint George Catholic Church, 259 W. 200 N., Saint George, Utah.
