HIGGINS, Jeannette Matilda

Monticello (MN) Times Thursday, May 12, 2011 Jeannette M Higgins, 89, died Monday, May 2, 2011, at the Annandale Care Center, Big Woods Memory Loss Unit. Funeral service was Saturday, May 7, at Bethany Bible Church in Big Lake, at 3pm. The Rev Brian Kite officiated, and the service was followed by fellowship and dinner. Private family interment took place later at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Crystal. Jeannette Matilda Higgins was born April 7, 1922, in Minneapolis, to John and Philinda (Shugren) Peterson. She married Ralph Higgins on Sept 20, 1941. Jeannette was a seamstress and operated her own drapery business for 30 years, retiring in 1985. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. For 20 years she and her husband owned a cabin near Aitkin and spent winters in Florence, Ariz. She is survived by her two daughters, Yvonne (Rob) Sondag, Black Canyon City, Ariz; Julie (JR) Lindahl, Monticello, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and sister, Phyllis.
