Funeral Set For Pioneer
Funeral arrangements have been made for Miss Mary Wilbur, 75, daughter of a pioneer family in the Arizona territory and one of the early graduates of the university here.
HER FATHER was Dr. Reuben Wilbur, a Harvard medical school graduated, who came to Arizona in 1865. He was physician for a mining company, helped open San Xavier Papago reservation for the government and served as agent. In 1876 he located the Wilbur ranch near Arivaca. Miss Wilbur's mother was Rafaela Salazar, of Altar, Sonora, where her family was prominent in mining and ranching.
Miss Wilbur was born in Tucson. She worked for the first telephone company here, for many years was a researcher for the Pioneer Historical society.
SHE LEAVES a brother, Charles Wilbur, of Tucson, three nieces and two nephews.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Tucson mortuary.
Requiem mass is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday at All Saints church and burial will follow in Holy Hope cemetery.
