Rites Tomorrow For Sarah Boyle, 89, State Pioneer MESA -- Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Ellen Carter Boyle, 89, Mesa area pioneer resident, will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in Meldrum Mortuary in Mesa. Mrs. Boyle died yesterday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alice Martin; of Scottsdale. She was a native of Santaquin, Utah, and moved to Pima in 1883. She married Edwin H. Boyle in 1889. They moved to Mesa in 1912 where they had a ranch. He died here in 1947. Mrs. Boyle was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints and a long-time worker at the Arizona Temple here. Survivors are five sons, Levan, Orson, Ellis, and Don, all of Mesa, and Elmer, of Phoenix; three daughters, in addition to Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Bessie Burris of San Diego; Mrs. Beryl Johnson of Downey, Calif.; and Mrs. Virginia Ballard of Manteca, Calif.; and five sisters, two brothers, 40 grandchildren, and 50 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Mesa cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
