Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, July 27, 2011 Sara Rios Gomez age 87, of Globe passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Copper Mountain Inn. She was born in Clifton, Ariz. on March 31, 1924, the daughter of Josephine (Garcia) and Carlos Rios. She was a member Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Miami, Ariz. Sara enjoyed cooking and specialized in tortillas and salsa. She loved Mexican music and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel “Chapito” Gomez; one daughter, Beverly Gomez; parents, Carlos Rios and Josephine Garcia Chaidez; one sister, Ida Perez; and one niece, Rachel Infante. Sara leaves behind in loving memory five daughters, Carmen “Stonnie” Nunez (Gilbert) of Peoria, Ariz., Susan Greiner of Globe, Ariz., Sally Vicens (Ron) of Hawaii, Juanita Gomez of Globe, Ariz. and Ramona Gomez Johnson (Keith) of Globe, Ariz.; three sisters, Antonia Gutierrez of Phoenix, Ariz., Nellie Rosales of Queen Creek, Ariz. and Lori Rodriquez of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister-in-law, Sally Garcia of Globe, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were held Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 844 W. Sullivan St., Miami, Ariz. Interment was at Globe Cemetery, Hackney Avenue, Globe, Ariz. Funeral arrangements for Sara Rios Gomez were handled by Miles Funeral Services Globe.
