WILSON, Bobby Allen (Bob)


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, June 11, 2006 Bobby (Bob) Allen Wilson, age 75, went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2006, Phoenix. Bob was born on July 10, 1930, in Cisco, Texas, to John and Bobbie (Lacy) Wilson and was lovingly raised by John and stepmother, Angie-Lue. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and upon his discharge, moved to California with his new wife, Bonnie (Eastman) Wilson. Together they enjoyed over 55 years of joyful marriage. Bob worked in the Design Division at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard for 33 years. He was very proud of his role in the reactivation and modernization of the Battleship Missouri. He served in many leadership positions at a number of churches. Bob was also very active in the Masons, the Scottish Rite and the Shrine. He served as Worshipful Master for the Lakewood, Calif., Lodge in 1991. Bob and Bonnie moved to Dewey in 1993, where he was able to renew his interest in music, playing and singing with a large number of area musicians and becoming a member of the Mile Hi Banjos and Buddies. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; daughters, Sandra Harsh of Prescott and Sheree Stutzman of Nacogdoches, Texas; brother, Al Sexton of Houston, Texas, and was blessed with five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his many friends who enjoyed his joking nature. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at the Bethel Baptist Church, 6901 E. Horizon Lane in Prescott Valley at 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2006. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in honor of Bob to be sent to the American Heart Association or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
