The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, January 5, 2007 Martha E. Cobe, 88, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend died December 29, 2006, in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. She was born July 29, 1918, in Tarkio, Mo. to H.F. and Bess (Nixon) Davis. Martha graduated from Tarkio College in 1940 and began teaching at Honey Creek High School in Nebraska. She married fellow teacher Jarvis Cobe in 1941. Their daughter, Linda was born the next year. The family moved to Arizona in 1950. Jarvis was an administrator in Kingman schools for 30 years. Martha was a homemaker, librarian at the Kingman Public Library, a teacher aide in the Yucca School and a 30-year member of St. John's Methodist Church in Kingman. After retirement in 1981 they moved to Espanola, N.M. Martha moved back to Arizona in 1988, lived in Prescott until 1998, in Parker until 2003 and at Jasmine House in Lake Havasu City until her death. Survivors include daughter, Linda (Femando) Maya of Parker, Ariz.; grandchildren, Tina (Dan) Amerson of Mesa, Ariz., Daniel (Marie) Maya of Parker, Ariz., Amanda (Mark) Mathis of Jackson, Tenn. and Crystal (Kirk) Dykman of Laveen, Ariz. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; and a sister, Harriet Saal of Lewes, Del. She was preceded in death in 1984 by her husband of 43 years, Jarvis Cobe. Also preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Esther Wolfe; brothers Dick Davis and Phil Davis. A memorial service will be at Parker Valley Presbyterian Church, 26668 Mohave Road, Parker, Ariz. on Saturday, January 6, 2007, at 2p.m. Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
