John Robert Sotelo, 40, passed away in Lake Havasu City July 20. He was born to Robert “Bob” and Cheryl (Dietzko) Sotelo, May 10, 1971, in Fullerton, Calif.
John relocated his family from Southern California to Lake Havasu City in 1994 and worked at the old McCulloch plant before it closed. After obtaining his truck-driving license, he spent the remainder of his career in the service industries delivering for Mission Linen and lately for Republic Services in Laughlin.
Over the years, Johnny enjoyed playing soccer, river trips, Glamis and dove and duck hunting. He frequently rode his Ranger out in the desert and enjoyed his Harley motorcycle. Trips with friends were numerous. Watching football games was his favorite pastime, especially the Chargers.
John is survived by his wife, Pam; son, Darin; daughter, Julie; parents, Bob and Cheryl; and his brother, James (Jamie), all of Lake Havasu City. His extended family included Johnny’s grandma Mary Dietzko, of Murrieta, Calif.; Aunt Barbara (Bob) Girotti, of Page, Ariz.; Aunt Diane (Tom) Cochran, of Murrieta, Calif. and Aunt Mary Ann (Monte) Grinstead, of Fresno, Calif. and their families including numerous cousins.
Memorial services will be Saturday, at 1 p.m. at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, 21 Riviera Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.
