SPENCER, Lee Brian


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, July 30, 2011 Lee Brian Spencer, 69, passed away on July 25, 2011, at the Margaret T. Morris Center in Prescott, Ariz., with his wife by his side. He was born on April 13, 1942, in Seattle, Wash., to David Spencer and Ivamae Spencer-Meffert. Lee attended Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland, Ore., before graduating from California State Polytechnic College in Pomona. He made a career as a cartographer working with the U.S. Geological Survey until his retirement in 1995. Lee was a scuba diver, a trumpet player, a stargazer and an all-around handyman. There was nothing that Lee couldn't do, according to Phyllis. He loved life and lived it with a strong faith in the Lord. Lee is survived by his wife of 43 years, Phyllis; sister-in-law Jan Hendriks; brother-in-law Don Hendriks; mother-in-law Wilma Hendriks; nieces Rose Hendriks and Rebekah Forman; and nephew Joe Forman. Lee is predeceased by his brother Barry. A memorial service for Lee will be 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at the Grace Baptist Church, 2010 S. Highway 89, Chino Valley, Ariz.
