Joan Rodd passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011, surrounded by family, after a long struggle with many health issues, including kidney and liver failure.
Joan was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., raised on Long Island, moved to Tucson in 1986, then Prescott in 2009.
She had a great love of animals and worked as a dog and cat groomer for five years when she first moved to Arizona. Prior to that, she worked more than 16 years for American Home Products in New York City. In her early days, Joan loved to travel at home and abroad, having visited England, Italy, Germany, Tangier, as well as Montana and Alaska. She also enjoyed bowling, needlepoint, rug-hooking and board games.
Joan was noted for her laugh and zest for life, plus her love of children. She was a very proud aunt and great aunt.
Joan leaves behind her brother Bill Rodd and wife Ingrid; twin sisters Janet Cella and Susan Maggio, with their husbands Bob and Gary; plus 13 nieces and nephews.
Anyone who ever knew Joan never forgot her. She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
Celebration mass will be 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury, Prescott, Ariz.
