Darrin Richard Hurdel passed away July 20, 2011 in Lake Havasu City at the age of 64. He was born on Jan. 1, 1947 in Inglewood, Calif. to Evelyn (Garrett) and Edward Hurdel who preceded him to be with the Lord.
He is survived by his only son, Justin, who resides in Westchester County. N.Y.; his older brother Skip (Donald) of Mesa, Ariz. and his younger brother Dayne of Lake Havasu City.
Darrin served in the Viet Nam War and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds sustained in action.
He worked in many fields, including a surveyor, builder, truck driver, construction worker, craftsman and as a builder of some of the loudest and fastest boat engines ever to be heard on Lake Havasu from the 60's through the 80's.
He love water skiing, boating, being on the Lake, fast cars and was a big NHRA fan. He lived fast and never slowed down for anything.
For those who knew him, Darrin was Darrin. We all hope he finds peace now.
