MCMAINS, Arthur Paul


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, January 16, 2007 Arthur Paul McMains, 72, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at his home in Truxton, Ariz., with Mary Lou, his wife of 56 years, at his side. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7. Arthur is survived by three brothers, Jim, Charles, and Richard; eight children, Staria Edwards, Daria McPherson, Sharon Phillips, Terri Eggers, Paula Slaughter, Clay McMains, Dorothy Winters, and Paul McMains, Jr. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a very large extended family. Paul moved to Prescott in 1972, where he founded McMains & Sons excavation. He retired from business in 1995 and lived with Mary Lou in Chino Valley, Flagstaff, and Truxton, Ariz. A celebration of Paul's life will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at the Word of Life Assembly in Chino Valley. Graveside services will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott. Paul was a man of great faith. He loved God, his family and this country. He will be missed until we meet again. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with final arrangements.
