FRANKLIN, Vernon Dale


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, January 11, 2007 Dale Franklin of Prescott died Jan. 5, 2007. He was born Feb. 9, 1931 in Bellingham, Wash. After graduating high school and attending Wheaton College in Chicago, he joined the Air Force, where he served for 20 years. During those 20 years, he served seven years at Loyola University in ROTC and completed his Bachelor's degree at Long Beach State University in California. He then moved back to Washington for the next 10 years, where he worked as the Vice President of Marketing for San Juan Airlines. In 1982, he moved to Prescott and worked as a real estate agent/broker until his third and final retirement. Dale was a charter member of the Early Riser Kiwanis Club and volunteered at Yavapai Regional Medical Center, driving the parking lot courtesy cart one day a week until he became ill. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sarah Franklin; daughter, Karen; son in law, Paul; brothers Glenn and Vince; multiple nieces and nephews; many e-mail and other friends; and the light of his life, his granddaughter, Aisha. Services will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care - Northern Arizona VA Heath Care System, Prescott, Arizona, 86313.
