SEVY, George Warren

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, January 11, 2007 George W. Sevy, CMSgt, USAF Ret., "one of the greatest generation," passed away Jan. 9, 2007, in Phoenix, Ariz. George was born to Blaine E. and Mary Fenella Sevy in Panguitch, Utah, March 12, 1922. He had four brothers and four sisters. George married his English bride on Oct. 28, 1944. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; sons Blaine (Judy) of Phoenix, George Leslie of Colorado, and Leiand (Annette) of Gilbert, Ariz.; daughters Christine (Michael) Sariano of Prescott and Karen (Jim) McCann of Albuqueique, N.M.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. A memorial service will take place at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th St., Phoenix, at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, followed by burial at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road.
