HENDERSON, Viola

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 08/02/2011 Viola Henderson died peacefully July 25, 2011. She was born July 6, 1920, to Hans and Ida Gilbertson in Shelly Minnesota. She is survived by her brother, Howard Gilbertson of Halstad, Minn.; sister, Gloria Hunt of Pinetop; children: Terry (Paula) Henderson of Las Vegas Nev., Ron (Nancy) Henderson of Pinetop, Craig Henderson of Lake Stevens, Wash., Karen (Ken) Lakey of Lake Stevens, Wash., 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Ida Gilbertson; husband, Russell Henderson; son, Pete Henderson; sister, Jean Johnson and brother, Milton Gilbertson. “The things she loved and shared will live in us forever; we will cherish her beautiful paintings, her journals, everything she touched. She truly will be missed by all. A special thanks to Ron and Nancy for taking such good care of mom these past years. We’re very lucky to have them.” There will be a memorial service Sept. 24, location and time to be determined at a later date.
