SHARP, Betty Jean

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, August 01, 2011 Betty Jean Sharp, 73, of Phoenix, went home to the Lord, on July 20, 2011. She is preceded in death by her husband Horace Sharp. Born in Oakland City, Ind., to Artho and Irma Bailey, Betty was the eldest of nine children. Betty was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Betty grew up in Prescott, Ariz., where she attended Prescott High School. She later became the director of Administrative Services for the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office. Betty loved traveling, boating, reading and spending time with her family and friends. She later became a volunteer to help grieving families in their time of need. Betty had a love of life and will be greatly missed by those who have been blessed to know her. She is survived by her son Mark; daughter Jennifer; stepdaughter Christine; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her ever-giving spirit, Betty has donated her body to science to help in the research of lupus and cancer. Information provided by survivors.
