Mary Allen Giles, 80, peacefully walked hand in hand with our Lord and Savior on July 31, 2011. She was born January 29, 1931 in Nashville, Tn. She married Richard (Buddy) Giles on June 16, 1949 and they raised four children.
After moving from Chandler to Seligman, Buddy and Mary successfully ran the Seligman Mart for over 25 yrs. In later years, while living in Prescott Valley, she attended Calvary Chapel and become the oldest graduate of the Calvary Chapel School of Ministry in Prescott.
Mary happily and selflessly served the Lord volunteering in a women shelter and several nursing homes. She ministered to her family, friends and church family. Always studying and learning as much as she could about God's word, she continued her studies through Moody Bible Institute through out her life. She made enormous differences in all the people she came in contact with. Her gentle, happy personality will be missed.
Mary had fought a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Although she forgot our names, she never lost her scripture memory and her love for gospel music. Until the end when she could no longer speak she would hum along with scripture and song and she always shared her beautiful smile.
Mary is survived by her children and grandchildren Rick (Annette) Giles, Tom Giles and sons Joel & Jake Giles, and Linda “DeeDee” (Carlos) Leyva and children Tyler Tubbs, Christopher, Garrett & Jordan Leyva and daughter in-law Tammie Giles and children Lacey, Jakob, Cora, Buddy and Sarah Giles. She is also survived by her sisters Deborah Humphrey, Linda and Lucy Aldrich.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Buddy, her parents Lynn (Henry) and Kathleen Aldrich, son Bob and her beloved dog Little Deer.
