Jack F. Weldon
July 8, 1933 - July 28, 2011
Our beloved Jack passed away on July 28, 2011, at home in Prescott, Ariz. He was born in Junction, Texas, and raised in Dallas and Austin. He eventually joined the U.S. Air Force and served from 1952 until 1956. Upon leaving the service, he relocated to Oregon, married Alta, his bride of 54 years, and together they started their family.
Jack dedicated his life to his family and construction. He knew how to build a quality house and he knew how to partner with his wife to make a quality home.
For those people who knew Jack, they called him "friend." A kind man, a genuine man and a truly giving man who gave to others above self. He was known for his firm handshake and his infectious smile, and he could always be counted on for a kind word. Jack was also a strong Christian and servant.
Jack is survived by his bride Alta; daughter Kim Wininger of Aliso Viejo, Calif.; son Jack (Carrie) Weldon of Marina del Rey, Calif.; daughter Lori (Roger) Peck of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Mark Weldon of Chandler, Ariz. Jack is also survived by a sole surviving brother, Walter (Lee) Weldon of Mesquite, Texas. In total, Jack has seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Lastly, Jack leaves behind his dachshund Chloe who gave him great comfort in his final years.
The family now imagines our friend has found his happy hunting grounds in the sky and he has found unimaginable peace. Jack was a remarkable man and he will be truly missed by those that knew him.
A gathering of friends and family will take place at Fain Park in Prescott Valley, Ariz., on Aug. 13, 2011, at 9 a.m. Bring your morning coffee or juice and gather in the park for fellowship and time with the family.
At 10 a.m., there will be a memorial service in the chapel. Seating is limited to 65 people. If we are unable to accommodate everyone that attends, a special video tribute to honor Jack's life will be presented after the service. Jack and Chloe spent many hours at Fain Park and it has become a special place for the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the Yavapai County Humane Society at 1625 Sundog Ranch Road, Prescott, AZ 85305. Chloe thanks you for helping her friends.
