Wayne Amos Wofford died on July 28, 2011 in Flagstaff, Arizona. He was born on October 4, 1945 to John Amos and Sue Raynor Wofford in Wilmington, North Carolina, who preceded him in death.
Wayne is survived by his wife Joanne Isaacs, his sons Isaac Dylan Wofford and Charles Amos Wofford, all of Flagstaff, Arizona, his daughter, Maryam Wofford Jones and her two children of Jacksonville, Florida, brother Donald Raynor Wofford and wife Martha Collier Wofford of Wilmington, North Carolina, brother Roger Lee Wofford and wife Nancy Diane Neustrom of McPherson, Kansas, sister Linda Wofford Ingram of Fairfax, Virginia, and nieces and nephews.
Wayne served in the US Army as a Medical Technician and was stationed in South Korea. Wayne loved the theatre and was a gifted classical actor. He graced the stages of the Theatrikos Theatre Company and Summer Arts at Northern Arizona University. He also appeared in CSC Repertory Theatre productions in New York City, the Lost Colony of Roanoke Island and the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.
Services will be held in the Veterans’ section of Citizens’ Cemetery in Flagstaff, Arizona, on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 10:00 am.
